Please carefully read the following information before submitting your student’s registration form:

participation requirements

  • To participate in the recital, a student’s studio account must be current and in good standing.
  • Regular rehearsals for the recital will take place at LABA during regularly scheduled class time(s). However, additional rehearsals for some roles and/or routines may be need to be scheduled outside of regular class time. Students are expected to be available to attend such rehearsals. We will do our best to email students’ families notices as far in advance as possible, as well as have these extra rehearsals clearly marked on the studio’s calendar.
  • Students who have excessive absences from class(es) and/or scheduled rehearsals may be asked to step down from participating in the recital.
  • In the week leading up to the performance, rehearsals will move to the Soraya’s Plaza del Sol Performance Hall. ATTENDANCE FOR TECH AND DRESS REHEARSALS DURING THIS WEEK ARE MANDATORY. Any student who does not attend dress rehearsal will NOT be permitted to perform in the recital.

Recital Fees cover more than just your student’s participation. The charges go toward compensating our faculty for the additional time spent to choreograph and stage the production outside of regular instructional time. It also goes to off-set the cost of renting the theater, and all the lighting, stage, and sound equipment equipment, as well as set pieces, props, backstage crew, student supervision, and security.

  • Ballet Show: $150
  • Mixed Show: $150
  • BOTH Shows: $200

Each class will perform a unique routine and a costume will be rented or ordered for each student in that routine. We will be measuring students in class to place costume orders. If your student is absent on measuring day, please see the front desk for assistance.

  • Ballet Show Costumes for students in Grade 5 and up will be rented. The rental fee will go to help offset the cost of any alterations, embellishments, and cleaning fees. Rented costumes will be returned to inventory at the end of the show.
  • Ballet Show Costumes for students in Grade 1 Foundation thru Grade 4 will be ordered out of catalog and the student may keep the costume after the end of the show.
  • Mixed Show Costumes for all classes will be ordered out of catalog and the student may keep the costumer after the end of the show.
  • Ballet Show Costume Rental: $95
  • Ballet/Mixed Show Costume Fee: $105 per costume
  • PBJ Costume Fee: $85 per costume

LABA offers 2 different payment options:

  • PAYMENT IN FULL: recital and costume fees will be charged to the student’s studio account on March 1, 2022. Families who opt to pay in full will receive a $25 savings to their registration fee.
  • 2-PAYMENTS: recital and costume fees will be charged in 2 parts. The first payment will be charged to the student’s studio account on March 1, 2022, with the remaining balance charged on April 1, 2022

If you would like to pay your recital fees using an alternate payment method (i.e. cash, check, or credit card different from the one on file), please contact the studio no later than (5) business days before the above scheduled payment date(s) to make arrangements.

LABA families will be able to purchase tickets directly from The Soraya, either online, by phone, or at the box office, ahead of the general public. More information regarding tickets will be shared at a later date.

For the safety and security of our students, the rehearsals at the Plaza del Sol will be closed rehearsals. Parents must sign their students in at the start of rehearsal and sign them out at the end of rehearsal. NO ONE WITHOUT A PASS WILL BE PERMITTED BACK STAGE.

If your child cannot stay without a parent or guardian present, please reconsider signing them up for the recital.

Recital and costume fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. However, we also understand that sometimes life happens. Partial or full refunds may occur under the following circumstances:

  • Should your student no longer wish to perform in the recital, please notify the front desk in writing immediately. We will issue a refund of 50% of the recital fees up until March 15, 2022. Notices received after March 15 will not be eligible for a refund.
  • Should your student need to drop out of the recital due to injury, LABA will issue a refund of 50% of the registration fee up to two weeks before the performance.
  • In the event LABA cancels the recital, the registration fee will be refunded in full.
  • All refunds will be issued as a credit to the student’s LABA account. If the refund is requested directly, funds will be returned to the original method of payment, less any applicable credit card/bank processing fee(s).
  • Costume fees may also be refunded in the above circumstances, but only if the costume order has not been placed with the vendor. In the event the order has been placed and/or the costume received, LABA will attempt to return the costume on behalf of the student, but cannot make any guarantees.

Recital Show Packets containing more detailed rehearsal schedule, costume and attire information, and other helpful information will be emailed to students after registration closes.

The deadline to sign up for this year’s recital is Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
our littlest dancers

special consideration

We plan in a special way for the care and supervision of our PBJ dancers. In addition to their teachers, the children will have teaching assistants, team members, and adult chaperones to supervise and help with costume changes, entrances and exits on to and off the stage, as well as their overall safety and care.

Because of fire codes, and more importantly, the Soraya’s COVID policies,  PBJ parents will NOT be permitted to accompany their child back stage or remain with them.

Therefore, if your child is unable to stay backstage for dress rehearsal without a parent or guardian present, please do not sign them up.

The deadline to sign up for this year’s recital is
TUESDAY, MARCH 1, 2022.

late registration

Recital registrations received after March 1st will be subject to a $50 late fee.

Registrations will no longer be accepted after March 15th in order to allow enough time for costumes to be ordered and delivered in time for the performance.
Thank you for your understanding.
